Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror is a ‘stop motion’ animation, using puppets within a three-dimensional set.

A young boy is using the bathroom before bed. After the light briefly goes out, he begins to see increasingly disturbing images of himself in the mirror.

The director, Yasmina El-Khatib, wanted the score to be as unsettling and uncomfortable as possible, providing increasing levels of tension as the boy’s experiences became more intense. Yasmina was looking for an unconventional score, rather than traditional thematic horror writing, and encouraged me to be experimental, exploring areas of sound design and unusual instrumentation wherever possible.
